Scripture
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a NEW THING, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
As human beings, we are routine people. We wake up in the morning, brush our teeth, wash our face, and then get dressed for the day. Some may have a routine lunch date with co-workers or friends once a week. Unfortunately, some of us even routinely go to church on Sunday mornings. Let’s not make our church attendance a routine, but rather a genuine time of worship to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I speak of routine because as we get caught up in our day to day. We mindlessly perform activities and get stuck in a comfort zone. Any deviation from the script sounds asinine and may throw us off of our happy and chipper mood. But we must begin to have the Mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus”. When we think like our Father, we think the impossible. And when we think the impossible, the impossible manifests in our everyday lives.
Isaiah tells us to forget what you’ve always known to be true. Don’t think about how things used to be and things used to go. Our Father wants to do something NEW in our lives. He wants to do the impossible. He wants to blow our minds with His Power.
For those who are parents – doesn’t it make you beam with pride when you do something that your kids thought you couldn’t do or something they thought couldn’t be done? We have a Heavenly Father who wants to do the same. We are spirit beings in a human body on earth. Our spirit belong to God, the Creator, who created ALL things. If He created all things, you better believe He can still create something NEW in you today.
So the next time you get discouraged because your car breaks down and you don’t have the money to pay for the repairs, believe God for a NEW THING. When you’re diagnosed with a disease and you’re not sure how you’re going to be healed, believe God for a NEW THING. Never let the trials and tribulations of this world weigh you down, because we serve a God who can do the impossible. I’m talking about about a God Who can snatch us out of any situation the devil meant for evil.
The God of the Bible is still the same God today. The miracles in Bible are not just for that time but also still happen today. We must believe, know, and act on the promises of God. The power lies in our tongues. Try something different today and, believe God to do something NEW in your life.
Prayer
“Father, thank You for wiping our slates clean. Thank You that when we repent and turn from evil and wrongdoing, You are there to do a NEW THING. Today, we forget about the usual and we believe You for the unusual. We believe that someone will be saved, healed, and delivered today. Again, for that we thank You. Amen.
