Have you been tired lately? How about moving and running slow? What about hitting a brick wall? Do you feel like life has just been sucked out of you, and you are running on fumes? I know – the draining is real. Well, you are not alone. Recently, I was working in a certain application on my computer, and I could not see what I needed to see, I could not do what I needed to do. As a matter of fact, my assignment could not be completed because a particular application was not in proper working order. There was something out of order or misaligned. I was then advised to reset and restart the computer. I did not have to shut all the way down, but I did have to restart. Oftentimes, and I do mean very often, we need a reset on life. We simply need to restart. The only way to be properly reset is by the Power of the Holy Spirit. The pandemic presented a shift in life and on our Christian journey that threw us out of alignment and many of us did not realign or reset. We did not restart. We quickly adapted to a lifestyle that was not intended to keep us stuck but was designed to catapult us into our God given destiny. The way we handle life and everything therein must be handled “with” much care and focus. This is especially true since the pandemic of March 2020. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts” GNT. Our mind is typically the first line of attack and if our thoughts are not carefully guarded or left unattended, we could be taken down a road and to a place in which we are not prepared. We are further reminded in Proverbs 3:5 to “Trust in the Lord “with” all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” NKJV. We cannot trust our own understanding to support us. Our understanding is fickle based on what’s going on around us and in this earth. We must trust the understanding of the Lord in the person of Holy Spirit. We must remember 1 Corinthians 2:12 which says “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God” – 1 Corinthians 2:12 NKJV. The understanding of the Lord is Spirit and from Heaven. It is a perfect understanding, and we must trust in Him and lean on Him. The Lord will never let us fall. Trust God for the reset. He reminds us of His promise in Psalm 121:3 where he says “He will not let your feet go out from under you. He Who watches over you will not sleep”.
Without a total reset from our Lord, we risk walking around frustrated, discontented, discouraged, needy, and some. A total reset from our Lord brings quietness and peace to our soul. We have a promise from the Lord in Psalm 62:1-2 NLV “My soul is quiet and waits for God alone. He is the One Who saves me. He alone is my rock and the One Who saves me. He is my strong place. I will not be shaken”. God is the Only One Who can reset us. I want to encourage each of you to talk to God in prayer and tell Him what it is that you need for Him to do for you. You should not feel ashamed, alone, guilty, or lost. Let’s remember, “Do not worry. Learn to pray about everything. Give thanks to God as you ask Him for what you need. The peace of God is much greater than the human mind can understand. This peace will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:6-7. You talk about a major reset! So many people live chaotically, in turmoil, in strife – with NO PEACE. But God wants to keep us in perfect peace. God’s reset will bring us into a place of peace.
Do you feel lost? Are you tired? Do you feel empty? Jesus wants to save you. He wants to heal you. He wants to fill you. He wants to free you. Let’s ask God to intervene and to reset our entire life. He wants to make you NEW in Him. Take time to read and study Psalm 105:4-5 NKJV “Look for the Lord and His strength. Look for His face all the time. Remember the great and powerful works that He has done. Keep in mind what He has decided and told us”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become NEW”
Salvation is the confession “with” your mouth and the belief in your heart that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10:9) When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are now a NEW creation. That is one amazing RESET. Your old, filthy, sinful nature has died, and you are now a NEW man in Christ. We now wear the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
There is another phenomenal benefit we receive as Christians. God restores back to us everything that the devil stole or that we forfeited when we lived in habitual sin. (Joel 2:25) We have to remember that it is through Christ that we live, move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) We must turn to Him, look to Him, and focus on Him through everything. When we get off track, we repent or turn back to Him. He will renew us, restore us, and RESET us.
Lastly, as you walk along your Christian journey, we have the opportunity to ask for forgiveness of sins and have Holy Spirit make us clean. (1 John 1:9) How beautiful it is that our Father in heaven loves us so much that He makes a way for us to come back to Him EVERY time we miss the mark. We don’t have to live in guilt, shame, and condemnation because our Lord makes us righteous.
What a merciful, gracious, and loving God we serve!
Let today be the day that you hit the RESET!
